I agree with you that the movies are terrible. However, the books are a really good read. The books are very lengthy and thorough, while the movies leave out way too much making them as you said shallow. I do think that you would still hate the books though because they mostly have female appeal. For the majority of the series, the outlook is through a teenage girl's eyes making the books easy to relate to for women. I appreciate your review on the movies, but I would love to hear a female's view on the movies.

I don't usually respond to comments on my reviews, but I'm going to here.

Ally- I understand that one should read all four books in order to understand the whole plot. However, one should also watch all six Star Wars movies to understand the plot that carries through that series, or read all three Lord of the Rings novels to understand the story it's illustrating. It's not about knowing what's coming. That's the art of the story. You develop it as you go along, and you develop the themes that go along with it. Twilight doesn't seem to have any so far. As of yet, all I've seen are two characters, Edward and Bella, staring lifelessly at each other, telling each other how much they're in love. That to me means nothing. I want depth to these characters, and so far, in the way it's developing, the story arc between each entry hasn't given me any.

Charlise- Maybe they did the best they could with New Moon, but the way I see it is that movie adaptations should be representations of the book, since the filmmakers obviously can't fit everything in there. From what I've been told, these movies are essentially basic representations of what the books are like, only the books meander more than the films do. Maybe they did their best, but they didn't seem to make any attempt to transcend the empty story that was holding it back.

Sara- I get paid to see movies and write about them. In short, I do work, son.

Lovely review, it had substance beyond the typical "Twlight Sucks". My question is why you saw the movie in the first place...

As for Ally's comment, I know some guys who love the Twilight Saga and some girls who hate it... I personally have no interest, given what I know of the plot, but it's amazing what hostility spikes up over this series... The obsessions for and against are somewhat scary. It's like Harry Potter mania except gone all wrong.

Um NO! if you read the books you would understand completly. They did the best they could with New Moon. They for the most part got some of the scenes exactly right. Twilight is a place for people who have never experienced real love to escape to. I personally appreciate having a visiual of the books now rather than what i think each scene should look like.

One YOUR ARE A DUDE. The Twilight SAGA is a series of books for women and girls. And you have to read all 4 books to understand the whole plot. And the books are always better than the movies.
