I am also pleased that he was apprehended. However, I’m confused as to how you or any other “Retriever” had anything to do with this incident. As far as I’m concerned Arbutus, Catonsville, all of it, is not UMBC territory. I’ve lived here 21 years, not 1 to 4, so I’m going to go out on a limb here and request that you not call this a college campus’ territory. I’m not sure I’ve even seen more than 10 total fellow UMBC students in that grocery store before, and I go there at least twice weekly. Furthermore, the Dawgs did not f*ck anyone right back. The security guard who did his job and shot the offender did. And he’s in critical condition in Shock Trauma, so I’m doubting he’ll do much, if any, jail time. However, my tax dollars are most likely paying for his intensive care right now.

Katie, I agree not many retrievers go to Mars. I would say Giant is much closer to retriever territory- I’m sure I see more than one person I know every time I go there. I would agree with Tony_M’s sentiment though: we go to college in a town and that town becomes part of our territory, probably for 1 to 4 years, so I think it is appropriate for the Retriever and students to have interest in the community surrounding their school. After all, we do our grocery shopping in Arbutus and Catonsville.

Danger, I completely agree. I just get irritated when college students make asinine, arrogant remarks when I’m certain if those people were confronted with an armed criminal, they would merely soil their pants. I’m just saying.
