The Retriever Weekly will host sports journalist and author Mark Hyman on Wednesday, April 22 at noon. Hyman will speak about his new book in Math/Psych 102.

Hyman is the author of Until It Hurts: America’s Obsession with Youth Sports and How It Harms Our Kids, a book that, in part, discusses parents’ and other adults’ role in the youth sports culture.

Hyman covers the business of sports for BusinessWeek magazine and has worked as a sportswriter for The Baltimore Sun, The Baltimore News American, The Dallas Times Herald, The Philadelphia Bulletin and the Norfolk Ledger-Star.

Hyman’s last book, Confessions of a Baseball Purist, was written with former Baltimore Orioles and current ESPN TV announcer Jon Miller.
