Hopkins wins, 14-11
By: Alex Pyles -

UMBC staged a furious fourth quarter rally versus Johns Hopkins, but came up short despite a 5-0 run that closed the deficit to two goals.

The Retrievers’ run came after a 5-0 Blue Jays run that began in the third period and made the Hopkins’ lead 13-6.

UMBC closed the score to 13-11 but two late saves by the Hopkins goalkeeper stuffed any hopes of a comeback.

Alex Hopmann had a phenomenal night for the Retrievers scoring four goals, but his shot late in the fourth sailed high and effectively ended UMBC’s comeback hopes.

The Retrievers have never beaten the Blue Jays.
