According to UMBC Associate Athletic Director for Communications Steve Levy, when Richard Flemming twisted his knee in practice Sunday, keeping him out against Vermont, there may have been more damage done than originally thought.
Flemming will have his knee scoped Friday and is out indefinitely. Flemming was inconsistent at times but was starting to turn things around after the wake up call of being benched for Chauncey Gilliam. Flemming averaged 7.3 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game this season with his best games coming in in the Tyler Ugolyn Columbia Classic against Quinnipiac and at home against Towson with 13 point and nine rebounds.
This injury leaves UMBC in a bind on the bench. It all started with Uwem Eshietedoho being out from the start.
Then, with two scholarships being used for transfers, three players quit the team early on leaving just an eight man squad.
