One commentator noticed that this morning ratemyprofessors.com released its Top Ten list.
UMBC’s Jim Thomas, who teaches in the Philosophy department, was named to ratemyprofessors.com’s second annual top ten professors list, weighing in at No. 9. Several readers predicted Thomas would get the call.
According to Carlo DiMarco, the vice president of university relations for mtvU, which owns ratemyprofessors.com, a fairly complex formula was used in determining the top ten professors in the country. More on that later.
For those interested, Thomas is teaching PHIL 100 and PHIL 152 in the spring, while also mentoring PHIL 400, the independent study in philosophy course.
