UMBC’s secret ad campaign
By: Gaby Arevalo -

UMBC administration has hired a production company to sponsor student-created videos that show the “cool” side of UMBC. A total of four videos will be uploaded to video-hosting sites such as Youtube in the following weeks.

Here is the first of the series, created by Senior Adam Kurtz.

Wow….the part about the squirrels was amusing, I’ll say that. Will this really make people want to come to UMBC, though?

I think that I wouldn’t base my choice of college on this video if I didn’t already go to school here. I realize that the point is to give insite into the community aspect of UMBC, but this one person does not represent the student body of UMBC…I would already know this if I wasn’t already here, just thinking back to my high school and how we had people who were more outgoing, people who were shy, people who were excentric, people who weren’t motivated, people who were motivated, etc. I would, however, get to see the campus from a student’s perspective, which is sometimes lacking in tours to the campus, so overall its a good idea and could possibly influence prospective students…

so they were suppose to show the cool side of UMBC? Is that not until the next one?
