Facebook status’
By: Greg Dewey -

Last night I noticed that on Facebook many people were updating their status to reflect their political convictions as the night progressed. The statuses ranged from “X is hopeful.” to “X keeps reminding herself that even thought the election did not turn out how she wanted God is in control and He knows what is best.”  Perhaps my favorite was one that said “X thinks that America is like a big titty woman…and everybody loves a big titty woman!!” Touche.

What do you think of political statements in statuses? What sort of statutes did your friends post?

Honestly, if people are proud of the choices that they made in this election (regardless of who they voted for) they should be proud to voice those opinions. Facebook is a network where people’s lives are put on display, they are open about who their friends are, pictures are posted constantly, etc. Why would political views be any different? We share so much about our lives already, and many of the people that I have spoken to about the subject have referred to the results as life-changing. If we’re willing to tell the people in our online network about how we can’t wait for the weekend, why not tell them how we feel about the state of the country?
