Questions for Quinn
Q: I've fallen for my best friend and he doesn't know it. Every time we get close I feel this liking for him, but I don't know if he feels the same. I don't know what to do. Should I tell him how I feel?
A: You need to ask yourself a few questions first: can you see a friendship lasting if you tell him? If he doesn't reciprocate your feelings, will it be too awkward for your friendship to handle? Is he interested in someone else? Can you actually see yourself in a relationship with him? How serious of a relationship do you think it would be? Ask yourself these questions, and I'm sure you'll be able to decide for yourself whether it's appropriate to tell him. It will probably even shed some light on when and where, if you decide to.
Q: My father recently passed away and I'm still getting used to living here. I've been struggling. Is there any place I can go to get a handle on things?
A: There are quite a few places you can turn to. UMBC's Counseling Services is the place to get a start. Though they don't offer long-term counseling services, they have the resources to direct you to someone who can help you, including grief counseling services or general therapy. Be sure to take the first step there if you are unsure of what to do or where to go for that type of support. I'm sorry for your loss.
