The Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture presents: Mixed Signals: Artists Consider Masculinity in Sports, an exhibition which focuses on artists from the mid-1990s to the present who question the notion of the male athlete as the last bastion of uncomplicated, authentic identity in American culture. The exhibit will run from October 8 to December 12. The Center, located in the Fine Arts building, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is free.

The Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery presents The Art of Persuasion: Poster Design from 1896 through 2008, an exhibition which highlights the transformation in the art, culture, and technology of posters. With posters representative of distinct eras throughout history, the exhibit is presented in three thematic groups- Pleasure & Leisure, Politics & Propaganda, and Commercial Advertising. The exhibit will be on display from now until December 13th. The Library Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
