How do you feel about Governor O'Malley's proposed three percent tuition increase for USM students?


It is too much to ask of students.
It is understandable, but I’d rather not pay for it.
It is a great way to fund the University System of Maryland during a time with budget cuts.

2008 Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition, featuring current works from 28 faculty members of the Department of Visual Arts at UMBC. Presented in the Fine Arts Gallery until December. Disciplines represented include film, video, animation, imaging and digital art, graphic design, drawing, sculpture, installation, print media, and art history and theory.

Humanaties forum presents: Molefi Kete Asante. University Center Ballroom, 7 p.m. Admission is free. visiting African studies professor at Temple University, Asante will be presenting the 30th Annual W.E.B. DuBois Lecture.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 13

Stuart Saunders Smith concert. Fine Arts Recital Hall, 8 p.m. $7 general admission, $3 seniors, free for students. Renowned composer, Smith focuses on avant-jazz and this evening's performance will surely not be one to miss!

Open Mic Night: Best Original Song. Sports Zone, 8 p.m. at the end of the show, the individual or group with the most enthralling song will take home the grand prize!

SEB MOVIE SERIES: The Dark Night. LH1, 10 p.m. Admission is free! Why so serious? Lighten up and enjoy a free movie! Come out and be one of the first to see The Dark Knight before it hits DVD this January.

Live Music Series: The Silver Lights. Flat Tuesdays, 9 p.m. DC locals, the Silver Lights will play their unique blend of pop/hip-hop to the UMBC community for free!
