Some random end-of-the-semester thoughts
By Collin Wojciechowski
Another year has come and gone, and with its end summer soon approaches. I say another has come and gone as if I've been in Catonsville/Arbutus/where ever this place is considered to reside for long enough to be reflective on what the change of seasons presents, although its only the close of my freshman year. The volcano is taking all of your lovely money
By Tilly Ingleby
I think I have a slightly different outlook on this Icelandic volcano business than a lot of Americans. I face being heckled for saying this, but had this volcano gone off in this fair nation, or had America been on the receiving end of the ash cloud, the Weather Channel would be telling us it's the end of the world, say goodbye to your loved ones, the ash is coming. This race is also a reminder of the sorry state of Maryland's own substantial Thoroughbred industry. Maryland actually hosts the second leg of the Triple Crown race at the Pimlico racetrack. So, back in 2008, when the Maryland State Legislature requested voters to decide whether or not to legalize slots in this state, the ... Read More
